*For reference in Rhino there is a command called Move Edge or Move Face which allows you to select the edges or faces of separate solid geometries. Also 3ds Max allows you to select multiple objects and apply an Edit Mesh or Edit Poly and select the vertices, Edges or Faces of Multiple separate objects at once.
